Type of Facial: Gatineau 4 Therapy Advanced Personalized Facial Treatment.

Price: 9/10. Original price of Rm358, bought at a Deal price of Rm28 with Deep Cleansing Therapy, Ultrasonic Refreshing Therapy, Oxy-hydro Collagen Therapy, Relaxing Therapy and RM300 Voucher. I honestly have no idea which therapy was applied throughout the facial since there was no explanation given during the facial session.

Ambiance: 8/10. Dark, cosy with soothing music playing at the background at the right volume. Volume and the type of music played plays a vital role throughout the facial session. Also, one of the places with the dimmest lighting used throughout the facial. Thumbs up. I have been to numerous facial parlours where the ceilling lights was too bright. Even with eye-cover ups, I can still sense a stream of light, which is somewhat uncomfortable in my opinion. Downside, it is a shared room. Luckily there wasn't a lot of patrons booked for that day, hence, I have the room all to myself.

[Pro's and Con's] The facial session started off with the routine Cleansing and Vitamin C scrub, followed by Hot steam, a process which I did not enjoy. It is suppose to be a process to open up my pores, but I think it went on for too long and I do not think people like me with sensitive skin should go for hot steam. I have been told by many beauticians that cold steam should be used for problematic skin. Reason being, heat would inflam the wounds on the skin even more rather then soothe it.

Facial session was followed by extraction, which was yet again, rather painful. I figured many experienced beautician actually practice the "pinching" method, where the skin is lightly pinched at an angle while extractions was being done to balance out the pain. Many beauticians would just press and poke without much ado. A Aqua Gel Mask was then applied on my face and subsequently absorbed using a Ultrasonic Cooling Machine, a process which I throughly enjoyed. This was followed by a face Massage, shoulder Massage and Hand Massage and ended with a 20-30 minute Oxy Hydro Mask.

Beutician practically stayed with me throughout the facial session, except during the 20-30 minute mask-wait. I would say that in the many facial parlours I have been to, a lot of the beauticians conduct overlapping facial sessions. In other words, they service 2 customers at once, with time-off taken normally during the "mask" session. They were also not pushy on signing for further packages towards the end of the session.
